Georgia Nature-Based Tourism Association 2006 Conference

Thank You To Our
Conference Sponsor:

Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau

Georgia Nature-Based Tourism Association is pleased to announce the 2006 GNTA Conference to be held in Madison, Georgia on Tuesday, January 17 and Wednesday, January 18, 2006.

We have a great line up with a choice of ten class sessions ranging from “Incorporating Leave No Trace Principles into Your Programs ” to "Marketing 101 - Targeting the Right Audience" and everything in between. Tuesday's classes will be followed by a cocktail hour hosted by the Madison CVB at Heritage Hall.

Columnist and author Charles Seabrook will be speaking at dinner on Tuesday evening with books available for purchase and signing. Mr. Seabrook has been the environmental writer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution since 1986. Since 1994, he has also written a weekly column for the newspaper called "Wild Georgia." He has won awards from the National Wildlife Federation, the Southern Environmental Law Center, and various press organizations. In 2001, the state of Georgia gave him the R. L. "Rock" Howard Award, its highest conservation award.

GNTA has had great success this year with our paddling, rafting, and tubing brochure but we think we can do more.  We need your input to help create a statewide Youth Paddling Initiative.  We need ideas and participation to create a program that will benefit our businesses and the children of Georgia.

The "Future of Nature-Based Tourism" is an opportunity to take a sneak peek at the new program that GNTA will be rolling out in the spring.  "Working Together: State Parks and Nature-Based Tourism" gives you a chance to sit in on a panel discussion between Ga. State Parks and business owners as they talk about concession opportunities already in place at state parks and how the process works.  They will also be exploring future opportunities for partnerships between GNTA members and the Parks division.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for the conference, for information please call the GNTA office at 404/975-4954.

Julia Murray, Executive Director GNTA
